When Mick Hyde and Phil Abbott started Radical in 1997 with the iconic Clubsport, it became the first company to create a bespoke powertrain system for a superbike-powered sports racer. It is the only manufacturer of club racing cars that can draw on knowledge from building carbon chassis LMP cars that have raced successfully at Le Mans, around Europe and in the USA. Unable to find a suitable race series for their customers in the UK, they started their own and now offer several single marque race series with unrivalled trackside spares and technical support. Designed, developed and built at their factory in Peterborough, Radical now offer a wide range of competition and road/track cars through their SR and RXC model ranges.
Radical set out to create a new niche in the sportscar scene offering drivers incredible performance for a realistic price, and their success is born out in the sales figures. As they enter their third decade with a fresh brand perspective, high-performance range and thrilling championship portfolio, over 2,000 Radical owners can’t be wrong. In early summer 2022 the company change their name to Radical Motorsport after 25 years of successful business.
They currently make several models under the SR and RXC designations.
