Raptor Sports Cars was established in 2001 and is one of only two car makers based in Scotland. They quickly made a name for themselves as one of the leaders in building bespoke race spec engines, and in particular using Peugeot engines as the base for the modifications. Competition success followed and their customer base soon became global, supplying engines from Taiwan to Barbados, with most of the core components coming out of their own premises near Edinburgh.
In 2012, after squeezing an extra 70bhp out of a Ford 2000 Zetec engine, they began to turn their attention to developing a car of their own, along the lines of the familiar Lotus Seven style. Having built a leading kit car version of this car, they decided to keep close to the iconic styling of the Seven, but at the same time bring the chassis and running gear right up to date. The Raptor was borne and it's ideally suited to road, track and competition use.
The company now produce several versions of the Raptor, using both car and bike engines with differing power outputs, which they claim has one of the largest cockpits available in the Seven style.
